Eco-Mooring Rode

eco-mooring
The Eco-mooring rode

Our newest addition - the ecologically friendly mooring system from boatanchors.com. The Eco-mooring and Eco-mooring Rode is a mooring system component designed to absorb the wind and wave motion while providing a high tensile backup. Because it floats, it will minimize damage to sensitive bottom habitat. The standard assembly is 12 feet long and will stretch to 17 feet long under load. (Custom lengths are also available) At the extended length, the load is transferred to it's 1-5/16 inch diameter rope. The Eco-mooring Rode's 12 strand oletec polyolefin has been proven in commercial fishing applications to be an extremely durable construction with excellent UV and abrasion resistance. The Eco-Rode mooring component is fabricated with either thimbles or soft eyes on the top or bottom. Hard shell trawl buoys can be added to help float longer systems. (Note: The Eco-Rode can also be used as a Storm Pendant or a Snubber.)

Our Eco-mooring Rode system consists of the following components:

  • Pendant - High strength, professionally spliced, double-braided polyester rope.
  • Mooring Buoy - Foam-filled, high-density, polystyrene shell with top pocket that protects boat hull from shackles.
  • Eco-mooring Rode - Long life-span, 12 strand Oletec Polyolefin rope, 28,000 lbs of tensile strength that floats above sensitive habitat and absorbs wind and wave motion. Standard assembly stretches from 12 ft. to 17 ft. (custom lengths available)
  • Helix Anchor - Superior holding power with zero disturbance to habitat and a long life-span. [Download Brochure (pdf)]
